Company: Anatomize Studios is an award-winning medical illustration firm that specializes in high-end medical illustrations for clients in the publication, research, pharma and academic sectors. We are located at 639 Queen St. W, Toronto Ontario.

Job Description
The MEDICAL ILLUSTRATOR creates, conceptualizes, develops and executes medical illustrations and graphics in multiple styles, for use in a variety of different media. Performs complex medical/scientific illustrations using a variety of techniques and media. Collaborates with stakeholders and team to develop content and to find creative solutions to support various projects, which includes surgical textbooks, slide decks, animations and more.

Qualifications
- Required: Master’s Degree in Medical Illustration or related field
- Minimum of one (1) year related experience in medical and surgical illustration (recent graduates are encouraged to apply if portfolio demonstrates strong abilities in medical/surgical illustration)
- Comprehensive experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- Excellent drawing skills with detail-oriented illustration style
- Ability to illustrate in a variety of styles
- Solid knowledge base of medical concepts and anatomy (specifically surgical projects)
- 3D animation and video-editing experience a plus, but not necessary
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Job Details:

1. Creates medical and surgical illustrations, animations, and scientific graphics in a variety of formats for research publications, presentation material, and teaching projects for clinical and research
2. Collaborates with Anatomize team and other (surgical) illustrators and chapter editors to create high quality surgical illustrations that are cohesive across a body of work (eg: a large textbook)
3. Evaluates and recommends new methods, materials and equipment for use in medical illustration.
5. Collaborates with team to create engaging and accurate visuals to support client needs. Provides expert guidance and direction during illustration projects.
6. Participates in the project plans and maintains it to ensure project deliverables are completed as specified.
7. Participates in all aspects of instructional design for visual material across the spectrum of static illustrations, animations, interactive diagrams, and video for education.
8. Supports team in preparing grant proposals, as needed.
9. Performs related duties, as required.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience
